DR. OURU JOHN NYAEGAH, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT, POLICY AND CURRICULUM STUDIES, FACULTY OF EDUCATION, KIKUYU CAMPUS
Dr. Ouru was a UoN student at Bed; Med & PhD levels. He started his first assignment as a lecturer at Kisumu Campus where he worked for ten years before he was transferred to Nakuru Learning Center where he served as the Regional Programs Coordinator in charge of the center. He later was transferred to Kikuyu Campus in 2021 and has therefore worked for 19 years both as a Part-time and as a full time lecturer. Besides, he has published a total of twelve (12) Scholarly Conference Papers in both local and International Peer reviewed journals. He has supervised more than 50 Masters Students and is currently supervising three (3) PhD students. On the 19Th day of August, 2013, he was appointed by the then Minister of Education Science and Technology Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi to serve as a Member of the National Education Board, a position he served till August 2015. On 16Th December, 2013 to 16Th December 2018, he worked as a Member of Nyamira County Education Board under the Ministry of Education Science and Technology for six (6) years
On 16Th December, 2013, before his appointment to serve as a member of the National Education Board, he was appointed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology- the late Prof.George Imbanga Godia to serve as a Member of the MOE/KPSA Partnership Panel whose mandate was to work on MoE and KPSA Partnership, Form One Selection Criteria, among others. The committee achieved a lot for Private and Public Schools in the country including good working relationship between MoEST and KPSA. On 13Th April, 2012 to 13Th April 2018: Dr.Ouru was elected to serve as the National Vice Chairman of the Kenya Private Schools Association(KPSA) and was made in charge of Curriculum Implimentation where he ensured Provision of Quality Education in all Private Schools in the country. Besides that, due to his Management experence spanning over twenty (20) years, he was elected by Private School Directors of Nyamira County to serve as Chairman of the Kenya Private Schools Association. Dr.Ouru has been on Educational Tours to more than 15 countries both in Africa and Europe including South Africa, Singapore, Turkey, China, Ethiopia, UAE, Thailand, among others. It is based on his fast Financial Management Experience that he was elected to serve as Chairman of Finance and Human Resource Committee of the National Education Board of the MoEST.This is therefoe the experience that he is biringing into the pension scheme if he is elected to serve as the Pension Scheme Trustee.
